About us

Situated in the heart of the Gard Rhodanien area, the town of Laudun-l’Ardoise combines rich heritage, cultural vitality, and economic dynamism. Rooted in its history yet looking to the future, the municipality is dedicated to enhancing its territory and supporting local initiatives that contribute to the city’s reputation and outreach.

Committed to its residents, the municipality works every day to provide quality services, encourage community life, and preserve the living environment. It also supports cultural and innovative projects that foster social bonds and the transmission of heritage.

By supporting the Maison d’Albert André and its partners, the town hall affirms its determination to make culture accessible to all and to keep alive the artistic and collective memory of Laudun-l’Ardoise..

About the project

The Albert André's house, the summer residence of the post-Impressionist painter (1869–1954) and friend of Auguste Renoir, is an emblematic place of Laudun-l’Ardoise. Long left unoccupied, it was bequeathed to the town in order to preserve and share the artist’s world.

Driven by the mayor’s initiative Yves Cazorla, a twin project came to life: the the restoration of the historic house, with a view to a future opening to the public, and the creation of an unprecedented website, marking the first step in its revival.

Designed in partnership with the company Enthalpie, specialized in the playful enhancement of heritage, this site offers much more than a virtual visit :

  • a discovery of the house and its history,

  • resources on the life and work of Albert André,

  • a digital reconstruction immersive of the house as it was at the beginning of the 20th century (January 2026),

  • an online escape game, to explore and play at the same time.

This project aims to make the Maison d’Albert André a living heritage, where past and digital meet to offer a cultural experience immersive, engaging, and accessible to everyone.
